Why join scouts?
Scouts offers opportunities for youth to get more involved in their community while growing in leadership and independence.
What age are Troop 319 members?
Scouts BSA Troops are open to girls and boys ages 11 to 18 in middle school and high school. Troop 319 is a girls troop.
Is Troop 319 coed?

How do I get started?
You can contact us through our Join Us page Plan a visit on a meeting night. All youth and adult members complete a BSA application to join.
What fees are required?
Youth pay a BSA membership fee and an activity fee with Troop 319. Youth also pay the cost of certain activities such as summer camp. Scholarships, partial or full, may be available with the goal that every youth that wishes has access to Scouts BSA . Contact the SM for more information.
What supplies are needed?
BSA Scouts wear the Scouting uniform available at the local Scout Store. Very little special equipment is needed to get started : a small backpack (similar to school) water bottle, comfortable shoes for outdoor activities, rain gear and other small personal items. Learning about what is needed is part of the program!
What is an Eagle Scout ?
This Scouts BSA highest award and represents a significant accomplishment of the part of the Scout including the service project, which is led by the Scout. Youth begin with small tasks and skills and gain ability and confidence as they advance.
What activities does Troop 319 sponsor?
Outdoor activity is the heart of Scouts BSA. Troop activities include a variety : Day hikes, summer camp, overnight trips at various locations, activities are planned by the Scouts to provide fellowship, learning and FUN. BSA Troops are SCOUT led supported by adult leaders. The Guide to Safe Scouting is the rule book for all activities.

What about adults?
BSA Troops are YOUTH led. Dedicated adults are essential to success. All adult leaders are registered (includes a background check), take Youth Protection Training and position training. Parents do not have to be registered leaders, but are encouraged to do so and to help with some facet of the scouting program. ALL youth need their parents to be informed, encouraging and supportive. Contact the Scoutmaster for specifics opportunities and needs.
What is Troop 319's main Goal for Scouting?
Our main goals for each scout are that they learn and build character, as well as improve their learning technique, build and strengthen friendships, and overall learn life skills that will follow them throughout their scouting career and their life. Each scout will go through trials and challenges, but they will overcome them and learn from these things. Our troop helps build every scout's skills, endurance, integrity, accountability, and most importantly leadership skills. Troop 319 wants each scout to learn these things on their trail in Scouting. Our scout leaders and advisors will make sure we include learning & fun each year as we expand our troop!!! Be prepared for the Adventure ahead!
What can you do to help our Troop?
Even if you can not or don't want to join our troop, you can still give by donating camping materials or donating money to help pay for camp etc. You can also help by participating in one of our fundraisers or refer a friend to our troop.
Scouting Opportunities after you age out of Scouts BSA
If you are part of the Order of the Arrow " Scouting National Honor Society" you can still participate until you are 21. If you are not a part of the OA and are still aged out you can volunteer at your local scout camps, council activities, be a leader in your old troop or a new one, and if you are a part of the OA you can volunteer at their programs etc.
